Yankai's Testimony!

Hi guys, i'm thinking of posting our members' life testimony 1 per week..to know each other better, and also to be challenged that if God can do such a work in our lives, He can do the same too for others! So...1st up, presenting Yankai's testimony! Read on and be blessed!!

"Before Christ, i used to be very violent as i grew up in a dysfunctional family. I followed the footsteps of my dad as i would always witness him beating up my mom whenever he is angry. Unknowingly, i started to beat up my sister whenever we quarreled as well. I would use hangers to hit her until she was sobbing and begging me on her knees to stop.

In school, i'm always smiling and having fun. Since i did not have any purpose in life, so i was not motivated to study. I flung Chinese and Maths for 6 years until PSLE! Eventually, my sister brought me to church. I'm shocked to find such friendly and loving people in there. For the 1st time in my life, i wondered why are these strangers are so happy when i was feeling so hopeless in my life.

As time goes by, the cell group members began to talk to me and befriended me. Eventually, I decided to accept them as my close friends as i felt very loved and accepted. The turning point came when I gave my heart to Jesus after attending church for a while. Though i was young but i knew God was working in me.

With a new found purpose in Christ, I began to strive hard in my studies & i got 4 scholarships out of 5 years in my secondary school education. My parents found it unbelievable! Also, being touched by the love of God, i stopped hitting my sister and started to love her. I used to hate my dad for the damages he had done to the family but i finally forgave him too. My relationships with my sister and parents has improved over the years. I am no longer an introvert, shy to strangers and am much more positive too!

Without knowing God, i will never experience these changes in my life. Praise the Lord! :)"
